Before we get into the nitty gritties, here's a bit of fun stuff!
I was born in Novato, California on September 7, 1994 as the third daughter of a military family. One meaning of my full first name - Genevieve - is 'woman of the people' which is exactly what I strive to be: a woman who helps the people around her.
Outside of teaching, I love astronomy as well as writing, and am currently working on my own children's book which I hope to get published someday (hopefully sooner rather than later)!
I have had the good fortune to be able to study at Sophia University (上智大学) in Tokyo, Japan for one semester in my undergraduate years. I was then able to return to once again study in Japan - this time in Kyoto and Sendai - to be able to visit many different elementary, middle, and high schools in these regions.
My favorite grade levels to work with are the lower elementary grades, especially kindergarten! However, I have also had experience with middle and upper elementary, being an OP in a sixth grade classroom for one semester during my Master's program. I love to bring creativity and empathy into the classroom in order to create an atmosphere in which students are not afraid to express themselves and explore their passions.
